Who is Erie UMC, in nutshell?

Erie UMC is a friendly, hometown congregation!

Drawing on our rich heritage as Christians and as United Methodists, we worship through scripture, heartfelt sermons, and hymns accompanied by organ and piano.  We sing joyfully, renew our spiritual well-being, and explore our faith. We welcome and accept people as family and offer a supportive community that encourages faith development.

Traditional worship with a loving, contemporary attitude.

We are growing in Christ to serve others.

Rev. Anna Viehland

Meet our Pastor, Rev. Lauretta Lundquist!

Grace to you all! I was called to ministry in a balcony pew at Trintiy United Methodist. I turned to my husband and told him that our lives would change dramatically. He looked at me and said, "okay". I was a flight attendant at the time. I had been flying for 15 years at the time. I saw people while they were either going to or coming from a major life event. People who were attending funerals, family functions and business meetings. People whose hearts were filled with possibilities, and people who were at their most vulnerable moments. I was fortunate enough to serve them there.

That is what I do as your pastor. I mark your life events with liturgy, prayer and hope. I mark your days and weeks as sacred, not as a day to mark off your calendar, but a moment that you mark with the presence of God.

I firmly believe that all people are made in the image of God and they have within the spark of sacred. If we want to know more about God, we need to know more about those created in God's image. All people are beloved of God, therefore, all people are to be loved.

Be blessed, friends. In peace, Pastor Lauretta
